Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – In celebration of Customer Service Week, The Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) hosted a tour of its Lloyd W. Michael Water Treatment Plant on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. CVWD welcomed over 60 attendees, eager to learn about the steps CVWD takes to ensure a high quality, safe, and reliable water supply for our community. In addition to learning about the water treatment process, attendees gained a better understanding of how CVWD is investing in the community to meet water needs now and for years to come.
The event began at CVWD’s Environmental Learning Center where 1,500 students visit every year to learn about our precious water resource. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the District by visiting department booths on display including operations, engineering, customer service, and government and public affairs. Once the tour started, CVWD treatment plant operators guided the group of attendees to see first-hand the extensive process water must go through before being delivered to their homes and businesses.
“CVWD is committed to engaging the community and sharing about the many steps we take to ensure our water is safe and clean year-round,” commented CVWD Board President Randall Reed. “Seeing the treatment process firsthand is a unique experience that leaves a lasting impression, and we appreciate our customers for spending their evening with us to learn more about their water and wastewater provider.”
CVWD encourages its customers to learn more about their water supply and services throughout the year by participating in educational programs, water use efficiency programs, landscape workshops, and tours. For more information about district activities, visit CVWDwater.com or call (909) 987-2591.
