The Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) is proud to announce it has received the prestigious Overall Outreach Award from the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) for its vigorous advocacy on issues critical to the water industry on behalf of their customers.
Each year, CVWD actively stays engaged by communicating legislative priorities and building relationships with elected officials, their staff, and other key stakeholders. Even during these unprecedented times, CVWD has utilized new methods of advocacy to communicate its message and priorities to local, state, and federal elected officials. CVWD consistently tracked legislation that affected its ratepayers, and helped shape legislation and policy with the goal of ensuring access to safe, reliable, and high-quality water supplies.
“Staying engaged and proactively tracking legislation that affects us is critical to ensuring the long-term quality, reliability, and accessibility of water for our ratepayers.” said CVWD Board President James V. Curatalo Jr. “It is an honor to be recognized by ACWA as the top agency in the state in advocating for our customers.”
ACWA is the state’s leading advocacy group on California water issues and policy and is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country. Its 430 public agency members collectively are responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California.
