Following the census, every ten years, California public agencies are required to adjust the lines of voting districts to reflect how local populations may have changed.
As required by Elections Code section 22000 et seq., CVWD must update and adjust the boundaries of electoral districts to ensure the community is equally represented. This process, called redistricting, is important in ensuring that each division has an opportunity to elect the candidate that represents their geographic area.
CVWD will hold Public Hearings for customers to provide input about criteria for consideration of drawing draft maps and boundaries for CVWD’s division maps.
CVWD customers are encouraged to participate in these hearings to provide feedback on how the division maps should be drawn.
